Viking Ocean Cruises
Viking Vela started a new chapter for Viking's ocean fleet. Fincantieri delivered her in Ancona in December 2024 as the first ship of a modified, slightly larger design. She is about 54,300 gross tons and has 499 staterooms for up to 998 guests, compared with 930 on earlier sisters. She also has upgraded engines and exhaust systems to cut emissions. Inside, she keeps Viking's familiar Scandinavian design and adult-only, all-veranda layout.
