Silver Whisper joined Silversea in 2001 as the sister of Silver Shadow. Both are enlarged versions of the line's first ships and carry about 392 guests. In 2017 she had two rounds of upgrades, one before her world cruise and another in December. The work renewed her suites, restaurants, spa and pool deck, and restyled her public spaces to echo the then-new Silver Muse. Her godmother was Marzia Lefebvre D'Ovidio of Silversea's founding family.
