Norwegian Star was ordered by Star Cruises as SuperStar Libra and entered NCL service in late 2001. It is a Dawn-class ship, with Norwegian Dawn as its sister. A 2018 refresh added the Sky High Bar, the Bliss Ultra Lounge and the adults-only Spice H2O, and Starlink internet followed in 2024. At the top of the ship are two three-bedroom suites, each with a private garden and sundeck.
