Queen Mary 2 entered service in 2004 and was built as a true ocean liner for transatlantic crossings, not as a typical cruise ship. A major 2016 'remastering' refreshed her interiors, added the Carinthia Lounge and expanded her onboard kennels for travelling pets. She has a planetarium in Illuminations, a large Queens Room ballroom and the traditional Britannia, Princess Grill and Queens Grill restaurants.
