Tips From Our Advisors

Compare the balcony fare with the oceanview fare on the same sailing. On many ships the difference is smaller than you would expect.
Balconies on lower decks near the middle of the ship tend to feel the least motion.
Some balconies are partly blocked by lifeboats or have a smaller outdoor area. We check the deck plan before we book.
On scenic itineraries like Alaska, Norway or the Mediterranean, a balcony gets the most use.
