Cruising Down Under runs mainly from October to April, the Southern Hemisphere’s spring and summer. Popular routes sail between Sydney and Auckland, often with scenic cruising through Fiordland’s Milford, Doubtful and Dusky Sounds and calls at the Bay of Islands, Wellington and Tasmania. Queensland itineraries head north toward the Great Barrier Reef, while short coastal cruises link Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Many travelers add a few days in Sydney or a land tour before or after the voyage.
