OUR STORY

A Travel Story That Began in the 1960s

The Cruise Company began in the 1960s, when our founder, Herb Goodfellow, saw how much people enjoyed traveling together and launched the International Employees Clubs. As the business grew alongside the early days of Silicon Valley, Herb partnered with Doug Kampick and Angelo Locatelli to establish The Travel Company.

From offices in Sunnyvale and later Atherton, California, the three built a full-scale agency, planning vacations for local aerospace families, technology pioneers, and corporate teams across the San Francisco Peninsula.

By the late 1980s and early 1990s, a new generation of cruise ships was changing how people vacationed. Our founders saw that ship layouts, cabin choices, and worldwide itineraries called for focused expertise, so they left general ticketing behind and devoted the agency entirely to cruising.

Leadership later passed to Angelina Marques, who had spent decades with the company since its days as The Travel Company. Today, as The Cruise Company, we are an independent agency based in Woodside, California, and our commitment is unchanged: personal service from people who know cruising.
